Place was absolutely filthy, sticky floors, dirty water jug, smelly bathroom along with dirty table tops and dusty counters. Once we ordered we were informed that 2 dishes weren't available, after waiting 20mins, as they were prepping for dinner yet lunch was supposed to be available until 3pm, it was only 1pm. Waiter never took our drinks ordered either. We decided to leave and find another place to have lunch. Really disappointed as the reviews looked amazing and we were looking forward to the great food.

Absolutely great food. I attended with a party of four and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The salmon was a hit, with comments around how it was the best salmon we have ever eaten. The staff were friendly and added to the experience. Would highly recommend

The servers were not only slow to take our orders, but also to deliver. There were mistakes with both our drink order and our starters (which arrived at the same time as our mains). Their staff seemed overwhelmed, confused and at times, rushed. I was disappointed in my meal (pork belly eggs), it did not live up to my expectations and at 29 seemed very poor value for money. My friends did, however, enjoy their meals (although they did suggest there were far better Vietnamese food options in Wellington). Unlikely to go back.

Saigon van grill has a fantastic location on cuba street. It was quiet when we arrived but filled quickly. The food was good..nice flavours and simple easy selections. There were items on the menu that were not available. This was surprising given they were chicken wings and sparking water? These items are not difficult to get? To not bother ensuring you have all your simple ingredients for your menu leaves a very bad impression. It's not acceptable for a restaurant surrounded by such high quality choices. Service was reasonable. Beer choice was ok....waiter liked it anyway as he told us about the session he had on it the night before? But for a central city restaurant I don't think it's unreasonable to expect way more variety than just a new tiger tap? The exterior gives you a false impression of a quality vietnamese experience. But it's really a simple no frills experience. It could be amazing, it's a shame its not...

Beautiful hidden gem in Te Aro. Food is healthy, fresh, and artfully presented, and they always make you feel like an “old regular” :) It’s been my favourite go-to for a healthy lunch, but there’s heaps of seating over two floors, so big groups would be easily accommodated as well. Definitely a place ‘ya love to support!

Great kumara fries, pork pancake below par and minimal flavor, waited along time for service and food, although the service was very friendly and helpful.

Was very good, server and chief were both super friendly. Food was super yummy, very filling! Only slightly downside was the men's toilet need some TLC. Cocktails are also a must too there! Highly recommend! 5/5
