Underground Service Locators (USL) is a subsidiary company of Downer NZ, a multi-disciplinary infrastructure company with offices throughout New Zealand, Australiasia. Underground Service Locators was originally set up in 1999 to provide cable location services, principally for underground telecommunication cables and plant. Subsequently we have expanded our work range to include location services for other utilities networks such as power, gas, water and sewers. USL is able to assist Network Service providers, Contactors, Councils and private individuals with a comprehensive location service. The services offered range from the location of underground service leads on private property, through to the location of high capacity copper and fiber optic networks, CCTV networks, power cables up to 66KV, high capacity gas mains and domestic supply gas pipes, fresh water, storm water and sewer pipes. It should be noted that underground services are required to have a metallic component or a metallic trace wire for our electronic locating equipment to work.
