Great place - great people. I became interested in Buddhism about 2010, and first went along to the Wellington Buddhist Centre in 2013. I found a friendly welcoming atmosphere and teachers who were skilled at helping me develop a regular meditation practice. I enjoy the teachings at the weekly Tuesday open nights - I find them interesting and relevant, and It's a great opportunity to meditate with other like-minded Wellingtonians. Highly recommended - a great way to learn more about meditation or Buddhism or both.

A warm and friendly Centre in which to develop an understanding of Buddhist Teachings. I am a regular attendee, and I can't wait for the move to he new space (in the same building) in the next few weeks. It will be an even more beautiful place to gather to meditate, learn, chant, catch up with friends or just sit.

I have loved coming to the Wellington Buddhist Centre over the last year and a half. Initially out of curiosity and a general interest in meditation and Buddhism but now as a means of ongoing meditation practice and exploration of Buddhist teachings. The teachers are experienced and dedicated and have found a way to provide sessions/courses that cater for a wide range of people of different ages and interests, whether it’s meditation, the dharma, devotional practice, retreats, therapy or yoga. The centre is growing in size, increasingly diverse and I have found the people are inquisitive and open minded. Everyone will feel relaxed and welcome on their first visit.

A warm and welcoming community with great facilities. They have a variety of meetings and retreats that are suitable for people new to Buddhism as well as veterans. The sub-35 group on Wednesday's always gives me great insight and has been a great way to meet like-minded people and have awesome meaningful yarns! Whether you are curious about meditation or want to learn more about Buddhism, I highly recommend attending the centre.

Great Buddhist centre for people interested in learning about meditation and Buddhist philosophy. I have been going for 5 months now and find the community or sangha are very warm and welcoming. There are a wide variety of options with intro to meditation/buddhism classes, drop in classes, sub 35, open night and 8 step recovery. Fantastic teachers for all levels. Recommend!

Great programs for learning meditation from beginners to seasoned pros. I had never done any meditation before going to the Buddhist Centre and I found the workshops covered everything from posture to mental states. They also run a really good Tuesday Open night if you wish to learn more about Buddhism / the Dharma. I have been going along to classes now for 6 months and I have enjoyed every minute.

Really friendly people with lots of great knowledge to share about buddhist and meditation. A bit hard to find ... but well worth the effort.
