Great viewing. Exciting racing.
Most teams have 8 weeks of training with 8 to 12 training sessions, starting in January, although the Masterton Regatta is in December. The Harbour Fun Day is usually a month before the main festival. Although none of the festival races meet NZDBF requirements, the festival is well attended with crews from around NZ and from Sydney and Queensland. Great fun for teams, and great team building for corporates.
Well organised, safe event. Great spectator sport for the whole family.
