The Wellington Homeless Women’s Trust is a Wellington-based not-for-profit organisation providing up to 3 months emergency accommodation and life giving social services for homeless women. Women wanting to make a difference in their lives by improving their health status, increasing their resilience and by creative supportive networks of relationships are accepted by from our referral agencies. Our staff link them with essential social services and provide supportive care, and ife skills for confidence, growth and self-reliance. We then assist them into safe sustainable housing. The Trusts referral agencies include Downtown Community Ministry, Soup Kitche, Maori Women's Refuge, Salvation Army, Arohata Women's Prison, Women's Refuge, Te Whare o Matairangi Ward 27), PACT, Catholic Social Services, Ngati Kahununu, Te Whare Marie and St Vincent de Paul. The Trust is guided by Te Mahana, the WCC's strategy to end homelessness in Wellington. Our Vision is to provide support and accommodation for homeless women who want to turn their lives around. Our accommodation and services are Wellington, New Zealand. In May 2013 a 6 roomed residence was established in Wellington, we appointed a house manager and a relief manager. By May of 2015 we had assisted over 50 women. Their average stay is 38 days. The Trust is an incorporated Charitable Trust and is registered with the Charities Commission New Zealand (CC48766).
