This little DOC campsite was an amazing place and a jewel in DOC's significantly large crown. We arrived and easily found a place to pitch our tent. We were very pleased with flushing toilets! Take note that it can be busy if you arrive late in the day. You will also need to bring plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent. You cant swim on the beach as it is far too dangerous. But you can swim in the lagoon. One downside is there is a limit of staying 2 nights. This is also the start/end of the Heaphy track so some pleasure use is to park their cars. Enjoy your stay, it's amazing! Park yourself on the beach and watch a beautiful sunset.

A very good place to change out of your boots or wet weather gear and/or have a lunch to celebrate the end of your Heaphy tramp. Remember the insert repellent though as the sandflies are numerous. Doc also keeps the nearby toilets in very good condition.
