Same issue with low standard switch boxes at the gate that burn out (Electrinet Gisborne) in less than four years. Both times Nova CSRs have dropped the ball and Electrinet CSRs are old women that need to get over themselves and perform as CSRs should. Blame passed on both sides and all this time...no power at my house for ten hours! This latest time and the South African CSR at Nova could well rethink why she came to NZ and why she took up CSR as a job. Maybe she's paid peanuts as the saying goes, but get outa the kitchen if you can't stand the heat. Nova could do better by tackling Electrinet over the inherent problem of switch boxes that burn out frequently... but they don't bother. Tine to look elsewhere.

Most of the staff are friendly, however my last run in was with a woman I spoke to and she was more interested in her upcoming 4 day weekend. Two weeks later I call Ultrafast to see if our job for a fibre install had been sent through and they had received no contact from Nova. In my personal experience the gas and power side of things was great - no issues there. The internet however... if you want to pay upwards of 100 for dial up or unstable connections that constantly drop out, rubberband etc then go ahead. The phone is also run through the modem so expect your important calls to randomly disconnect.
Staff are friendly but their ability to actually help is marred by the fact they are split into different teams and seem to have no follow up procedure. 6 phone calls later and we still haven't been upgraded to fibre from VDSL despite us organizing it with Chorus, and the install done as Nova couldn't seem to manage it! Really terrible company but we're locked into a contract.
tried to switch to nova, but as a standard customer, they are not really interested - a shame have been with them for years, but for my EV they wanted not to make a competitive offer
Have been with Nova for many years now always friendly, helpful, great advice, recently we added internet through NOVA, highly satisfied, great work!! Thanks for taking care of us....
Nova Energy were good when we were getting LPG bottles supplied .HOWEVER, when we shifted house - which wasn't set up for LPG - and closed our account with them they short changed us by around 100 by not refunding us for our unused LPG. Beware.
