We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Whangamata Campsite. Very friendly staff. Clean facilities. There are more than ample toilets and showers throughout the campsite. We were very impressed and happy to be there. So so close to the beach. We could hear the waves crashing from our spot, just beautiful. A short walk into town with loads of cafes and shops. We would definitely book again, sometime soon :-)

Very considerate hosts, during an unplanned extended stay, made camp facilities available during the day while I was waiting for my vehicle to be repaired, reduced price on cabin and even last night free, couldnt have asked for a better place to wait it out. Thanks again kindly to the hosts.

We camped here in our tent for 3 nights and enjoyed it a lot. The only reason we came here was because our 2 dogs were allowed to join us. We will be back. It is always good to find campgrounds accepting dogs. The campground and facilities are clean and the staff makes you feel welcome. We recommend this campground to others. Close to the beach and shops. Oh yes, and we had a super deal. Pay for two nights and get the 3’rd for free.

Just phoned up to get pricing of a powered camp site and spoke to Sarah. She instantly jumped at us asking our age and making assumptions that we were going to be partying and being disrespectful of the facilities and families staying. Don’t really like being discriminated and accused of something because of the sound of my voice, I’m 27 and just want a nice get away for my birthday. Will not be spending my time and energy at such a negative place.
