We tried Paraoa on Friday night. Wonderful to have a live music venue on the Peninsula. A good acoustic soloist was followed by a ska/reggae band. Good mix for the evening. Bit of a wait for food but this was noticed by staff and chased up for us. Nice wines and the pork belly was spectacularly good. And the toilets..... Were spotless!

I had to write this after the amazing food we had last night. Table of six, of which two were vegetarian and we all loved our meals. We were expecting decent food but what we had really surprised us - the small dishes were amazing and the mains were just as good. Service was really nice and the beer and wine are great and a decent price. I think Beer Spot is in trouble with Paraoa putting on a great evening. The live music is always great - we will be back for sure!

The best place on the coast to grab a drink, some hot chips and watch the live band. Not too pricey or pretentious, Paraoa has a friendly, coasty vibe.

We went on a Saturday night with a group of us. It was unfortunate that Vector decided to cut the power, causing them huge problems, but I thought they handled it admirably. The food was really good, although my Pork Belly was only just warm when it came out (the amazing flavour did make up for it, and it may have been due to the power issues). The oysters were delicious. The live band was great, although it did make it hard to hear as we were sitting next to it. It didn't bother us, but something to bear in mind if you are looking for a quiet dinner. The only major complaint I have is the cleanliness. As soon as I walked in my shoes started sticking to the floor. The bar was filthy to the point my wine glass was sticking to it. If it were only a bar, this wouldn't really faze me, but as we were dining there it was a bit off-putting. Also when the power went off all the staff ducked outside to smoke, right outside the window of the restaurant - which wasn't the best look. The staff were all lovely and friendly, and our waitress pointed me in the direction of the Pork Belly - she seemed to know the menu and I appreciated her suggestion. I will definitely come back, and give it another go, but probably would only visit with a group - it's not really the kind of atmosphere for a quiet dinner out.

Food is beautiful, the atmosphere and live music was excellent. We were informed on arrival that there would be an hour to hour and a half wait for food due to it being so busy but we decided to order anyway as we were enjoying the music. Food arrived before when we were told and was very tasty some great new flavours for the coast. One word for improvement could be to have designated wait staff, bar staff and front of house staff. So that your excellent staff don’t feel like they are having to do everything. Thank you for a lovely meal we will definitely be back again

Terrific experience! Really enjoy the atmosphere in the place and the food was absolutely fantastic. We’ve been back a few times now and enjoyed the burger immensely. Second time had the snapper and it was excellent! My wife had the pork belly first time and beef shin the next time. Both were excellent. The band that played in our second visit was great. Had a thoroughly enjoyable evening both times. It’s a great asset to the peninsula!

Went for some live music and drinks on a Saturday evening. Obviously still ironing out a few wrinkles, but the staff and service were fantastic (despite it being quite busy and the bar staff running around to keep up with orders). Loved the selection of beers, and the food was good, too. It is a very large space and the vibes are quite different from one end to the other. Well worth checking out!

We, as a family, have been to Paraoa twice since they opened. Thoroughly enjoyed both times! The atmosphere is great and being able to listen to music, play pool and darts, relax and enjoy excellent food, or watch a live band, it makes for an all around fabulous time. Food is great too!!
