Absolutely disgusting people, intimidating, aggressive, don't listen at all, in no way 'impartial' as they claim. So rude, when my 63 year old mother came in to claim her dog she was very upset, trying to hold back tears, however completely calm and rational otherwise, the first thing the control officer did was tell her off for being understandably upset. Conflicting information from each person. The list goes on. These people are essentially power tripping tyrants.

Rang up about a dog coming up my drive and setting my dogs off barking .. I told them she's a lovely dog though.. just need to stop her roaming .. at least they are all for and caring to dogs from the conversation I had with them

Sunday two weeks ago my Dog ran away while i was out during a severe thunder storm. My dog gets terribly frightened and traumatized during thunderstorms and was looking for me. The lady whose name I can't remember was incredibly helpful and understanding. Eventually i found Muppy the next day. A neighbor had seen her distressed and taken her in for the night. Then I had to go to Dunedin for a week, left Muppy with a mate in Auckland. Still being traumatized she managed to escape from his place in Auckland ,she was looking for me. She was found wandering by someone in Auckland who rang animal control in Whangarei who in turn rang me in Dunedin. Hence the dog was reunited to my friend and I was reunited with her on my return to Auckland the next day. Thanks so much to you staff at Whangarei., and to the awesome people found and cared for her while she was lost.Well done; great and caring service. Muppy is fine now Andrew

Was a bit disappointing. Rang twice over a three hour period as we had a lost dog resting up next door with no collar and we couldn't get near him so rang Animal Control. No one came to check on him and he ended up running away. He was very scared. I hope he found his home.

Rang them to say i had found someones wondering dog and was holding him until they came to pick him up. 3hours and 2 phone calls later and still no one shows up. Had to cancel an appointment because of their tardiness. Not impressed :(
