It was our worst accommodation during three weeks exploring New Zealand, where we stayed in approximately ten different places. “Arthur Street” is far from the city center, so we needed the car to go out for dinner. Meaning that, having to drive, it wasn’t possible to have any wine during our meals. On the positive side, the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. The “continental breakfast” is awful. “Arthur Street Bed and Breakfast” is not a traditional “B&B” as we see everywhere in the world (Scotland, England, Austria, France, Canada, etc). In this place there is no one preparing your breakfast. You just help yourself of processed fruit pots, yogurt, tea and bread. There isn’t even butter (in a country where dairy is a big part of the economy). They use margarine, and the pot is disgusting as it comes with bread crumbs from previous guests. All furniture is dated, including the kitchen. The fruit basket has a very limited selection with some of the fruits going moldy. To have this kind of accommodation with this awful breakfast, we would rather have stayed in a Motel. We saw more than one, in the city center, within walking distance to shops and restaurants and with nice views to the sea.

Great host, really made me feel welcomed and comfortable. Was well worth the money, beautiful set up. Very calming and relaxing. Had every thing u could need. I would so stay there again any time.
Sue was a wonderful host, made us feel at home and comfortable. We were given great advise for what to do and where to eat. Definately would stay there again and recommend to others.
What a neat and tidy B&B in a quiet street quite close to town. Would satisfy any fussy person. lots of room for people and cars
