Whitianga is really lucky to have this fantastic boarding kennel and doggy daycare facility, so great to see all the happy little furry faces, they just love it. Also the convenience of having the little shop there is great too - a one stop shop for all our dog needs. Really nice to spend a day out on the boat or exploring Coromandel, knowing that your fur baby is at Shine Canine also having lots of fun.

So happy with our service from Shine Canine! My puppy Kaia stayed for a week when we went on holiday and had the time of her life and learnt some great new social skills. We have also done two training sessions with Tarah and we are well on our way to a well mannered dog!
We have three doggies, all different and one problematic (untrained). They take such great care of all of them, and work with the needs for each individual dog. We use them for daycare weekly, and recently two of them had a four day stay. They came back calm and this has given us peace of mind to be able to go away and have our dogs in safe hands. Both Tarrah and Katrina communicate excellently regarding on how our dogs are doing. They understand and care for our wee pack. I find the whole experience with Shine excellent. Its a safe environment for our dogs to have socialisation and fun good dog times. Would recommend whole heartedly.
We were only in the area for a few days but Shine Canine were still able to take our puppy at short notice. The team were fantastic and our pup had a great day with lots of fun and play. Definitely recommend them.
Took our dog to their day care when we visited Coromandel. The owner is very nice and organised. And the place has a large outdoor area and heaps of things for dogs to play with, even a slide! Our dog came home really happy :) Thanks for looking after our dog. Looking forward to bringing her here again!
Feb 2021 Oscar was at Shine Canine with Tarah this weekend for a few days in their kennel facilities. He has a condition where he has no pigment on his nose, and unfortunately this means the sun has hit him hard this summer & his nose was very sensitive. On Sunday he had a medical incident involving his nose & a whole lot of blood (no other dogs involved - just our overly enthusiastic border collie!!) Tarah immediately got in touch, & when she didn’t hear from us took him into Whitianga Vets and liaised with Dave on our behalf about his care. She was so amazing. When we were back in cell phone range she kept us posted on how he was and what the vet was doing. We never have any hesitations leaving Oscar in her care and this again reinforces why. She has followed up everyday to see how he is (on enforced rest and wearing a cone!) and is helping us work on full time solutions. We have no qualms at all in recommending Shine Canine for your doggy day care needs or holiday stays! **** Sept 2020 (on FB) Oscar absolutely loves his doggy day care days with Kat and Tarah. In fact it’s hard to get him back in the car at the end of the day! There’s loads of room for the dogs to run and socialise in a safe, controlled space. Tarah also provides a great boarding facility and it puts our mind at ease to leave Oscar there for extended stays when we are out if town. Thanks team - we really appreciate that Oscar is treated as one of the Shine Canine family!
We booked our dog in here in December 2020 and could not have been happier. Tarah was great to deal with and it was clear from the outset that she puts a lot of effort into making sure dogs in her care are settled and happy. Our boy is a sensitive wee soul and comes back from other boarding kennels in a state of anxiety - he came back from Tarah's with a big fat smile on his face and had clearly had a whale of a time. Meantime, Tarah sent me loads of photos so I could see how he was getting on, which meant I got to relax as well! The facilities are superb and the dogs have masses of time to play together in open spaces as well as enrichment and toys. Can't recommend Shine Canine enough, and we will definitely be back.
We are so happy we found Shine. Tarah has done an amazing job setting up this doggy day care facility....Thor is beside himself ( in other words barking with much enthusiasm, anticipation and happiness) as we drive in. He can’t get out of the car quick enough to see his doggie friends and Katrina ...who also does a fantastic job. The environment, care and professionalism of Shine is highly recommended to anyone who is looking for the best care for their doggie.
