Lovely bike ride. Pity that selfish people mean that a huge number of gates are required all the way along the trail. Disappointed that nobody allowed us some space to sit down at the end to prepare for our return trip.

The Motu Trails: Dunes Trail is a wide, packed-gravel trail great for cycling, walking or running (there is quite a bit of traffic with people cycling so please be courteous). The leisurely and pleasant Dunes Trail takes in coastal scenery (Pacific Ocean coastline) with opportunities for seaside picnics and swimming. You can even hire bikes if you do not have one of your own. It is perfectly marked so you cant go wrong. This is A MUST if you find yourself in Opotiki.
