Good for kids
Iconic beach. Access road in Ahipara is eroded. Four wheel drive is best. There is a tour bus.

Rainbow beach! I get to see and enjoy the rainbows almost every day. It is nice to start the day or sometimes end with. Quite, beautiful and unforgettable views. Very scenic & changes every minutes. You can sit down and spend hours just Looking at the ocean without getting bored. It’s a never ending view of the Northern end of the New Zealand. Especially on clear sky or windy day. Whether it is clear sky or cloudy, Sunrise and sunsets are totally different every day. Only two things I noticed people should be aware of walking barefoot and taking kids for walks. Upon entering the beach from the public access to 90 mile beach to the right, there will be lotta broken beer bottles due to the ATVs running over it or the trucks or the cars. The other thing I witnessed is Watch out for dog poop! Especially small kids they step on it, they come home it’s all over the house or while they’re playing either a dried out or the fresh one will become their toy. Every time I see a dog pool or the broken beer bottles I take a minute or two and explain it to my kids about the dangers and How we can prevent it. They are the future shareholders And they should be educated when they’re small!
One of the best beach in Aotearoa, far north, fishing, diving, hiking picking shellfish, you name it come and enjoy won't let you down ️
Great Spot Too many VEHICLES
Awesome and so much fun. Love the West Coast!
Absolutly stunning! ️
Dont mind the rating. Just a reminder that this track is only suitable for 4x4. Ground was rocky and had big holes. It is possible for SUVs and some station wagons to cross (my car is toyota mark x zio) but very hard and risky. I had to drive the car in reverse and go high speed to climb up.
Good pedestrian and vehicle access to the beach
