Family friendly, has few BBQ places you can use during summer (requires pre bookings). Lots sheeps, 2 beautiful horses called Colin and Connor - always appeared to be well trained and well behaved. Currently the Watercare coastline walk is closed to the public. It probably takes you an hour and half to two to complete the walk.

Great experience to camp at the Ambury Park Campground. We were looking to stay at a ordinary campground close to the airport and found a little paradise 20 minutes away from it. The owner is so very nice and the campsite itself is beautiful with chicken running around and many animals to watch. We especially loved to take a walk at sunset to the volcanic beach, which is only 2 minutes away. The toilets are very basic but if you are looking for a place full of life and nature and conveniently close to the airport if Auckland, it’s the best place to stay!

Great campground, good facilities, good spot, friendly animals, good views. Only complaint is that the chickens will invade your campsite and try and steal your food. CUTE/10 But also annoying, overall a good place to stay as long as you don't need a powered campsite.
