Naturally. At Apetiza we believe that the natural way is best, so we are committed to making animal treats as close as possible to the way your pet would eat in the wild. However, we know that, while parents want what is best for their pet, they may not have the time to deal with the mess of frozen raw meat. The Apetiza answer is to take the raw treat and gently air dry it to give you the goodness of raw in a user-friendly form for the busy pet parent. ​ Only New Zealand raised free-range animals are used to produce our all-natural treats No preservatives, flavours or other additives are included. ​ The idea behind Apetiza Ltd was from a separate New Zealand company, named Value Proteins, which had been making petfood meat ingredients for over 20 years. They were selling quality NZ ingredients to petfood manufacturers, but had no control over the actual food that was being produced.  The team at Value Proteins wanted to find some way to ensure that the products they were manufacturing were being used to create a petfood that provided pets and their families with the natural goodness of New Zealand. After extensive research into the foods that were being made and the effects they were having on pets, who had no choice but to eat what their family bought them, someone came up with a daring plan. Several members of Value Proteins set up a new company dedicated to providing pets with a range of quality New Zealand products created from natural and safe ingredients. ​
