We engaged Athol from Auckland Balustrades (or About Stairs - in liquidation, as they are sometimes known) to make and install a balustrade for an external deck. Unfortunately, the project was a disaster. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. Very poor workmanship - this was not the work of a skilled tradesman. Parts crudely bolted together creating what would have been an eyesore. No attempt to make good and he walked away with our deposit. One star is very flattering.

I would not recommended this company due to unsatisfactory workmanship, their poor attention to detail and damage sustained to my property when they attempted to install a balustrade. Also while on site the company’s installers used very inappropriate language while working with each other which others onsite found offensive. I met with the principal of the company and it was agreed that he would remove the balustrade and refund the deposit. At the time of writing this the deposit has still not been refunded despite my repeated requests for its return.
