Bastion Point is a great spot to visit if you're driving along the waterfront and offers sweeping views across the Waitemata Harbour, Rangitoto Island and back to the city and harbour bridge. It's peaceful and usually not too crowded although parking is limited. The Savage Memorial Gardens are also well maintained and there's plenty of open space for picnics and the kids to run around.

A beautiful step back in time with a wonderful view over all of Auckland

Still one of my favorite spots in Auckland. Well cared for and maintained gardens. Clean public toilets available. Lots of room for picnics or kids to run around. Plenty of shady areas. Its a pity the trees have grown so much and the views not as great as it was.

The best view in Auckland now that no-one can get up Mt Eden-and free parking (but don't tell Auckland Council, as some idiot will try to put in parking charges!). Great flower gardens at the Savage Memorial!

Beautiful place with great views of Auckland and the harbour. I proposed to my wife here 21 years ago and we had some of our wedding photos taken. Many happy memories including watching the new millennium in with friends!!

Mean views, lots of space for the kids to run around and enjoy, a good place to go and relax and check out the cars that go up there and park up, some old and some new but all nice and mean

Great place for a picnic. We do this each year to celebrate the new year. We also enjoy flying our kites here too with our boys.
