Giac Nhien Pagoda was established in 1991 in Auckland City, the first Vietnamese temple since the Vietnamese community settled. Giac Nhien Pagoda activities in accordance with Vietnamese Buddhist traditions; activities on weekly Sundays, each month has the Bat Trang Trai Dao on Saturday, the penance ceremony twice a month. Every week there are sermons and the celebration of Buddha's Birthday, Vu Lan Bao Hieu - Chinese New Year.
