Owned and operated by someone with decades of experience sourcing and trading high quality vintage garments, Greatest Friend specialises in natural fibres, identifying the worthiest trends and everything is very reasonably priced. From bespoke aristocratic Edwardian to austere workaday Amish, a world class collection is constantly updated and you will be astounded by the pristine condition of century-old items. The website ships worldwide but the converted-container boutique alone is worth a trip to Waiheke, if only to feel these gorgeous fabrics between your fingers.

This store had a nice selection but the employee was very rude to me. She tried to guess my size (already somewhat problematic) and then guessed about 3 sizes too big. When I corrected her, she looked me up and down and said “really?” Safe to say I no longer felt comfortable and confident in this store. For a store with such an inspiring and conscientious branding and message, I was disappointed that they would make harmful assumptions about someone else’s body.
