We had heard good things about this place but that did not prepare us for how amazing it was. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff a super friendly yet professional. The food was well priced and made with high quality ingredients. Even their dessert menu was not an after thought with two amazing dishes. We loved our dining experience and will definitely be back!

No need to go to ponsonby anymore as izu is fine dining in papakura. We had several dishes of the menu and they where all immaculate. Flavour profile of a high standard. The service was excellent and very knowledgeable. The food, service and surroundings made it all 5 out 5 and just wanted us to stay longer for cocktails which where also amazing. We'll be back. Thank you izu

The food here is really yummy and well presented. Each dish except for the tempura was delicious and looked really nice. The tempura just tasted like fish and chips. Portion sizes were quite small. We were really unimpressed by the service. None of the staff returned our smiles nor looked like they wanted to be there. We had to wave each time to get the attention of waiters to take our orders and we were not offered water or a follow-up on the food or more drinks. Ended up paying 50 per person and we were all still hungry afterwards. Probably wouldn't go back.
