LabPLUS does NOT empower patients. From their website: "It is LabPLUS policy not to perform collection, testing, or sample dispatch on self requesting patients or requests from non-medically trained practitioners (e.g. naturopaths). Please contact your General Practioner." Sod off. In the US I can order tests for myself via a variety of online blood analytics services (Ulta, WalkInLab etc.). Even in Mexico I could order the tests I wanted. We live in an era of self-quantification and empowered patients. LabPLUS does not.

This is where to go if you need to pick-up a lab sample especialy human-tissues, including pregnancy products. The nurses and staff members are friendly, though the lift is extremely slow. It's so much faster to us the stairs. The correct floor signage is the one with blue background. Parking is also very hard to find, so better to get one on the side of the road.

So my Dr requested a blood test that could only be completed at Aucklsnd Hospital LabPlus. Dont be confused like me and go to their main office as per Google maps. The actual retrieval of blood is completed on the 6th floor of Auckland Hospital, passed the Chapel and near out patients. It was a little bit of extra walk. With parking at a premium and costly. I parked at the Domain and walked into the Hospital. I literally went round in circles by going to thier main office versus into the hospital. They have lovely staff who redirected me to the 6th floor. The blood withdrawl was quick and painless. Their staff were caring and happy to give me a chance to recover my breath. No bruises for a change.

As a lab courier few years back i would at least twice daily and extra special pick ups or drop off of blood samples etc to this lab. lift or take stairs sign for samples or pick up staff were helpful with the procedures
