My first camper van, very impressive. Camper is good and beds are comfortable. The staffs in Auckland airports were nice to help us to change the clean one. It is easy to self learn for facilities’ operation. But it is better to have a basic training before leaving.

I'm sorry however I can't leave even 1/2 a star as it was NOT what was represented on the website , the Unit (6 Berth River ) was never cleaned by staff at Maui this was proven when we dropped it off they inspected it and put it out ready for Hire again, now back to when we picked up the unit, when I arrived I was shown one and it was DIRTY , none of the surfaces had been wiped cutlery not clean floors boot marks and food scraps etc , So on to the next one and it was more or less the same .... the representative said she was sorry for the condition, she had a Maui form that said it had been cleaned which proved to be a lie as per my first comment, as we were running late as it was I quickly cleaned the windscreen Mirrors etc so we could see out of them, then we took all the Linen out and replaced with our own as we knew it was clean !! finally got to our destination and plugged in the power only to find that the power points didn't work and nor the microwave , that was the last straw. I could go on however the list is too long other that anon returning the Unit the supervisor offered a 50% reduction on the RUC to compensate 47.00 with an attitude to boot ... wouldn't even come in and see the broken Microwave , she did also say that the power points had been tested and found to be working again in my view another lie when asked why it had not been cleaned she replied we have no cleaning facilities here. which comes up all my thoughts and disappointment. no empathy at all so we must assume that this is company culture. A very sad day for us Never again will we hire from Maui its not as advertised

Amazing experience! First time hiring a campervan. Was nervous picking it up, but the team talked me through what I need to know and made me feel a lot more comfortable. Great vehicle and great customer service.

We visited New Zealand in early 2019 and rented a campervan here. The van itself was great, clean and had all the functions we came to expect. It was easy to drive, very comfortable and the cruise control was a nice thing to have when driving for longer periods. Backup camera was a must-have for parking into tighter spots. Pickup was good, you fill our some paperwork and then you can go on your merry way. During our travel we had an issue with the "house" battery, it couldn't hold a charge for more than a few hours which meant all power would go out (for fridge, interior lights and so on). We called up customer support, and at first they told us the battery could be replaced by a road service team. Called back later to arrange for the service team, but this customer support person told us that no such thing was possible. Instead we had to cut our day short because we had to drive to a mechanic shop 2 hours away (on our route). This unfortunate misinformation from support caused us to miss out on half a day, but to be fair we where later compensated for it by writing to the Maui office and explaining the ordeal.
