Used to be great but the fun police stopped us being able to drive (on the long established and easily accessible) road. Haven't been there since. Used to be where I took all my visitor friends to view Auckland. Nor any more.....now I take them to The Savage Memorial at Bastion Point (until some idiot closes that down as well!).....

Really good experience and the view was amazing. The hike is really short like 30min one way n is suitable for families with small kids as u can take the prams. I would highly recommend it.

Mount Eden is known for being the highest volcano in the Auckland continental Volcanic Belt, formed some ten thousands of years ago. Today the remains of a cone-shaped crater are surrounded by lush green grass. The top of the mountain is equipped with a lookout, an unique panoramic view of the Sky Tower and Auckland City.

This mountain is a fantastic landmark. It has such marvellous, picturesque 360 degree views of Auckland city and you can get many fantastic pictures. Good for Aerial photography if you have a drone. I'd recommend visiting the area if you've never been.

Its wonderful. Can only say take a walk and enjoy the views. The walk is not to bad. The sight of the birds living around the mountain is wonderful. Well worth the time, especially on a sunny summers day.

Great walk! Takes about 30-35 minutes to walk up from the base to the summit, depending on how fast you walk. when you get to the top, rest, relax, sit on a bench or the grass and enjoy a breath taking view of Auckland! You can park your car on the road nearby or you may find a parking spot via a gate entrance to the mount (please check the timings from their website).
