Went here for a friend's wedding. It has a lovely layout from the church to the kitchen and the pastor is very lovely. Also had zoom connection for family overseas that couldn't make it. What a beautiful touch!

I don't recommend this church for people wanting to seek the truth and expecting a moving sermon through the holy spirit. If you want to hear people talk about themselves and promoting a rainbow church its a good place for you.

Cute little church with a historically significant pipe organ. Cold in winter and hot in summer, but aren't they all!

Ponsonby Baptist church was built in Italianate style in 1885, very open with central pulpit and a very historic small organ (maybe the oldest organ in Australasia, first used in a grand house in England then brought out for use in Auckland's first church. Sloping floor (maybe to stop dancing!) and behind the original 1880 church and alongside a little chapel. the famous aspect of the church is that from the 1980s it has been, like Ponsonby as a whole, a very welcoming and inclusive place, where "outsiders" can feel accepted, so you will find a curious range of unwell, people who had relationship difficulties, transgendered, lesbian, gay and psychiatric survivors. Not your typical Baptist church and the only church I know that has a coffee break in the middle of the service! Associated with the church is the Community of Refuge Trust, which owns about 250 houses for use primarily by the mentally ill or by those struggling to afford accommodation.

Quaint little old church. Quite small. Good administration. I'm not a member of the congregation.

A place where everyone is welcome. Where Jesus is central. A real community. Don't just go once. Each Sunday is different.
