If you enjoy waiting more time than you play, then this is the place to go. We played today and the waiting was ridiculous. Way too many people on the course. The owners just want to get the maximum amount of money from their course and don't care about the players. We waited today more than time than we played and it was a terrible experience. It took us 4.5 hours to play 14 holes and we left after 14 holes. When I confronted the people at the shop about this, they acknowledged it and said that they told management before but they don't want to listen.

Just won it big and wanted to celebrate. Dropped in and they said they were full so we came back in 30 minutes and they had a spot for us. Never played golf before but it was a good time, didn't feel judged by the regulars around me. Was able to have a good laugh with the boys. Could have done with a table and chairs but honestly it was fine without it

Takapuna golf course serves well to busy Aucklanders being in the reasonably central location with nice facility. Little wet in winter and can be very busy when weather is fine.

Staff over last few years very unfriendly. Also as public course it used to be best but now people using course donot seem to know rules a group of four should let a group of two play yhrough if you intend on having drink or rest what has gappened to course manager.
