Beautiful little town, a wonderful stop on route to Akaora. The old railway station takes one back to a time in history we should all appreciate. The shop has a lot of neat items and local produce for sale. I highly recommend anyone to stop here and pick something up as a remembrance to little river. The locomotives were the highlight for me!

Nice place to stop on the way to Akaroa. The train behind the shop was interesting.

I went here on the way through to akaroa. A very nice train and bit of history, lovely gift shop, be interesting to stay at the silo hotels lol. Will stop on the way through for a snack and then I'll be way happier. Driving the hills is a bit annoying lol. But its worth it for the views and relaxation haha.

Worth stopping to check out the railway station and train. It reflects how things were 'back in the day', and acts as a reminder of how spoiled we are today. Well preserved and looked after.

A historic railway station station well preserved as a crafts stall. This is an awesome place to stop by on your way to Akaroa. With washrooms nearby, and a short look at some of the cabins left behind on the tracks. Take a break, enjoy the view, have some coffee before you continue with your long drive!

Visited historic Little River Rail Station whilst travelling from Christchurch to picturesque Akiroa for lunch. The rail operated between 1886 to 1962 along the Southbridge rail line. A trust now looks after the site with a gift shop. Station is well maintained. Worth a visit and stay at the a little River Cafe next door. Food is very good.

Gorgeous wee place, good to see a slice of history saved. But be prepared to spend over and above in the craft store. 400 for Woollen Jersey seems to be tourist market targeted definitely not for local market.
