I don't even know where to begin. My partner and I sat by the kitchen (10/10 best seats in the place). Al and Deep in the kitchen we're incredible to watch and super lovely, while Alex and Connor looked after everything else. Professional but relaxed and personable, funny. Everything was perfect. And the food is obviously fantastic

One of the things I love about Bar Celeste is that it’s not too restauranty and not too much of a bar. It’s something in-between and good at both. You’ll know what I mean when you go, and you’ll get it. Auckland does not have enough places like this. The food is great. The wine selection is great. The atmosphere is great. Bonus photo: When they do Cantine burgers, they’re the second best burgers in Auckland after Baby G.
Great service and food. Menu requires a bit of clarity from the waiting staff. Tables too close together to really enjoy the experience. Ideal for a younger crowd.
We stopped by for dinner on a Thursday without a booking and was able to get the window table. They were full so there were a few people who were turned away during the night. The place is known as a wine bar but I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of food that they had. We tried the carte blanche, where they serve you a series of dishes and they even asked if there was anything on the menu which we would like to try. I opted for the octopus. The difference between the two prices was two extra courses, oysters and dessert. The dishes came out at a nice pace, we didn't run out of table space. We started with the bread with black garlic butter and the kingfish crudo. Both were delicious and the black garlic butter was very moreish. This was followed by the peppers with feta which was ok and had a little bit of heat. The duck liver parfait was also really tasty. The fig gave it a nice texture along with the bread. The charcuterie was ok but wasn't anything special. The sprouts were Brussel sprouts and that was really delicious. I like the charred flavour of the sprouts and the crunch of the crumb. The octopus was cooked so well. The different areas of the tentacle had varying ranges of doneness, so there were textural differences between the crunchy tip and the really soft body. It had a nice flavour by itself but the chorizo gave it a nice savoury flavour. The food was quite delicious and worth trying. The carte blanche was slightly more expensive than just ordering the items off the menu individually. It might be a better option to just pick and mix what looks interesting. It was good that we tried things we probably wouldn't have but most of the selection on the menu looked good.
I've been there almost 3 yrs... They never made me sad hahaha. Always good and touched!
My best place to get some negroni and some oysters in the weekend before going dancing, but very hard to get a reservation on the same day. Food is really awesome and so the cocktails.
What a great way to treat your S.O! From beginning to end, we had a great time, the team were fantastic Definitely recommend the set menu, it was amazing and low stress if you're criminal to the ol'panic order Highlights were the crudo & the octopus , so thank you Chefs Also to note, Connor and his coworker (sorry we totally missed your name, I blame the wine and cocktail ) were just the loveliest! So thank you again guys, you rock!
