This place is a semi preserved historical place. It's a nice picnic spot on a sunny day, there's an adult swimming hole by the river and the impressive chimney stack Across a swing bridge on the other side of the river(which can also be accessed by road through Taylorville) are the remains and relics of the coal mine. On March 26, 1896 there was an explosion which buried all 65 miners to close the mine. Worth a look for the mindful.
Lots of history of the area. Very nicely done. A must stop.
Always love it here.
