Our farm is located on the lower foothills of Maungatautari (Ngati Koroki Kahukura), within the Waikato (Waipā) region in the central North Island of New Zealand. As well as having an abundance of rich pasture, the area is known for Maungatautari Ecological Island, which has the longest pest-proof fence in the world. Through the efforts of locals, it’s become an ecological haven for native wildlife such as kiwi, kokako and tuatara. Beginning with my great-grandfather Jack and his brother Ted, to the current custodians, my parents, Neville and Louise, our family has worked the land for almost a century. My brother Trent and I form the new generation to be involved with the land. Today, we’re a medium-sized, certified organic dairy farm, as well as a small apiary that uses organic principles. But, we choose to farm using a ‘best tools for the job’ approach. We are progressive farmers, combining intelligent solutions such as state-of-the-art robotics with responsible, regenerative practice. Farming needs the best of us and we believe in being part of a community, sharing discussion and expertise, creating a better future for all of us. This is our home. Our land of milk and honey.
