Epic climbing overlooking Christchurch city in the port hills .one of my favourite places to climb in the area with cattle stop crag up the top of the ridge

Many bolted climbs with easy access from Christchurch. Has some beginner routes but most of them geared towards intermediate/advanced climbers. Very warm on summer afternoons.
Nice big climbing area, carries on to cattle stop crag, bit better access from summit road to get to cattle stop. Britten has plenty of its own climbs though. Good mix of Trad and sport. Bit of earth quake damage and not the most popular area so bit over grown and not uncommon to find the odd loose rock so just keep an eye out. Other wise rock quality is ok. Full sun in the afternoon so not great on a hot day
Table service is shoddy, staff were pretty sheepish about it No WiFi, but at least BYO is free and overall it rocks
