So far this is the best place i have been in christchurch to witness sunset. The entire peak of the mountains are covered with bushes which are in its full bloom from oct to january, with the bay in the background. Excellent place for that perfect instagram picture.

I walked from Sign of the Takahe past Sign of the Kiwi to Hoon Hay Scenic Reserve (via Crater Rim Walkway). Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys scenic walks away from the hustle and bustle! Hoon Hay Scenic Reserve was quite quiet and quite far away from the city (there were times I had no signal) - barely met people along the way - so I would advice you to head here with your friends if you’re afraid of getting lost! :-)
