First time visit to Christchurch, so never saw the city pre-quake, but this museum was very informative about the events surrounding the quake. Wish we had more time to spend there to watch the first hand encounter stories. Unfortunately, the majority of the hands on experiences were unavailable due to a change in COVID alert levels, but this was understandable. A lot of interesting building parts that you wouldn't usually see up close if such an event hadn't occurred.

A must visit while in Christchurch. Very informative about the quakes that happened in the Canterbury region.
This is not worth the price at all, this should be part of the Canterbury museum. While the exhibits are informative and do are interesting, I just don't see why this vital part of New Zealand history is behind a compulsory entry fee of 20pp. If profits went to support victims and family or the rebuild of heritage buildings I would be fully supportive. Feels like profiteering off the back of a national tragedy.
What a moving experience...pardon the pun. Great display.
Really enjoyed my visit today. All the memories of the horrific day flooded back going through Quake City. I live in the north island so I wasnt here when it happened but it was very sad listening to some of the survivors tell their story. Some of the pieces from different buildings on display, machinery and lots of photos. Well worth the price and the introduction before we went in was great. Thank you.
Awesome experience and great for kids a great reminder if what we in Canterbury have gone thru
Very well designed. Good stories and memories from the quakes. A must see.
Very good museum about Christchurch earthquakes. This is a must in Christchurch, very educative about this sad catastrophy in 2011.
