We saw Allans Beach in the setting sun. The beach is extensive. Getting there is easy. On one side there are boulders and cliffs. Beautiful and wild beach.

This was really worthwhile. Able to get up and close with nature. The children absolutely loved it and we could afford it. Thank you.

Lovely place to visit, very easy to walk to after a beautiful drive to get there. Its free to go and you get to see some wonderful wildlife

Great spot to generally get to see some fur seals, but best with a guide who knows what they're doing. I very highly recommend Lyndon of Horizon Tours, he has heaps of knowledge and expertise after working with DOC for 30 years. If you do go without out a guide get good advice and stay well away as these beautiful creatures are a lot faster than you might think, faster than you can run if you're too close, with a bull up 500 kilograms they can rough you up quite well.

Such a hidden gem!.... Really glad we came down here... Beach is beautiful and the weather was absolutely perfect for it. We even managed to see a sea lion in the flesh which we really wasn't expecting. Definitely worth the drive up as parking is very accessible and the walk to the beach literally takes a few minutes.

Great remote beach worth a visit if exploring Dunedin. Watch out for who you might meet on the access path!

Enjoyable visit - great for encountering sea lions. The Council could initiate a spinifex planting programme to get the native dune grass back on this beach instead of the marram and help raise the beach profile.

Beautiful spot. Great drive to get there. Feels remote, but manageable distance from city.
