Great would have given 5 stars but local south Waikato district council have stopped respectful peace dwelling freedom campers from occupying a otherwise beautiful place. No vilid reasons given / no right to contest/ meeting was held behind closed doors without public invitation Shame on them.

What a great free camping site! It was really Clean. There are 2 really nice composting Loos AND 2 really clean solar showers... FREE! A gem of a place to stay the night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Love this place. Toilet, shower and great walking/cycling track. A must do if you are in the Taupo area and looking to freedom camp.

Wonderful place to camp outside Taupo. Showers, toilets, boat ramp. Very few people around. Peaceful. Trails nearby. Great for hikes, bikes, canoeing, etc

Great spot, used by the organisers of the Taniwha as event base. Lots of room & easy access to swimming.
