I would highly recommend EPIC Campers for all your on the road, self contained, camper needs! Andy was incredibly helpful from the start. I booked very last minute (Less than 24 hours) and heard back from Andy within the hour. He was extremely helpful in fully explaining all the ins and outs of the camper and it was very easy to navigate even for a first timer like myself. The camper itself was perfectly equipped with everything you would need and easy and convenient to use. The campers are all well looked after and maintained which makes it a very easy and stress free experience. They also provide extra information on what to do if anything goes wrong and are there to assist if needed as well. If you are looking to do a road trip around NZ and want to keep it easy, affordable and stress-free, I would HIGHLY recommend going here! Thanks again, Andy!

Great little camper! We had an Epic Camper for 2 Months everything worked perfectly. Cooking facility that pulls out the back is great quality and is so ideal, life made so easy (great crockery to!). Andy is super helpful and prepares everything for your arrival! Not far outside auckland airport quick Zoomy/taxi to collect your van. Couldn't recommend Andy and his Epic Campers enough.

By far the best campervans in NZ! The vans are very modern, the bed is super comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, including salt, pepper and cooking oil. Everything was spotless! They provide a double USB charger, AUX cable, windscreen repair kit and washing up equipment without extra charge like other companies do. Besides that, Andy is so helpful and easy to contact. Thank you Epic Campers for making our trip even better!

I rang Epic Campers at lunchtime to see if there was any chance they had a free camper for a four day roadie-I was on the road by 5pm the same day in a fabulous, fully kitted out campervan with every mod con you need for a fun getaway. The bed was comfy, everything was clean and tidy and fabulous. I loved it so much I’m going to buy a van myself and do it up in a similar way. Love the layout, the price was the same as the cheapest big companies online-support local, these guys are amazing, get out there and do it!!

Our experience of Epic Campers was awesome, from beginning to end. Andy was so helpful, right through from enquiry to saying goodbye to our beloved van, Phoebe. The vans themselves are great - they've clearly put lots of thought into the design of the interior, and the extra touches like the delicious coffee they provide, to the windscreen chip repair kit (which was an absolute lifesaver for us) make a big difference. Whenever we had questions, we got a reply straight away. We looked at lots of other hire companies and we felt that the pricing was very vague and what actual van you would end up with was a mystery - with epic campers you know exactly what you are getting, and the pricing is really clear. I couldn't recommend them any more.

Can't recommend EPIC Campers highly enough. Andy was fantastic to deal with and very accommodating. Having travelled NZ a couple of times in campers, the set up of the vans at EPIC is ingenious. Everything has a place which makes it easy to keep organised, yet the van was small enough to go over the hills and park in towns without any issue. Perfect for our 2 month trip. Perfect van, perfect service. So glad we could use our money to support a small local NZ business. Infinitely better experience than the big name motorhome rental companies we have used in the past.

Epic Campers lives up to its name. We were quoted by a few different places but decided to go with Epic Campers. Andy was on to it from the initial booking to post trip also. Even over Xmas he would check in to see if everything was allgood with the camper and really went above and beyond to make our trip a blast. We will be booking again in the future no doubt. Such a seamless and easy process from start to finish and the best service!!

We hired a van for 3 weeks, which turned into 3 months as we continuously extended our tour of post-lockdown New Zealand. The personal and attentive service from the owner and his partner in Christchurch made the hire experience easy. We appreciated the quality of the kitchen instruments provided. Simple things like a great nonstick pan, sharp knives, and provided salt, pepper, and oil make it easier to adjust on your first night in a campervan. These Mazda vans are small, but this means they are incredibly easy to drive. No fussing about where to park and maneuvering. It's easy to underappreciate how the ease of driving a smaller vehicle contributes to a stress-free trip - we covered 5000kms to loop the south island, with many narrow, winding, or gravel roads in the mountains. While not large inside, it is possible to effectively seat 4 inside for a game of cards. Touring during winter, we were warm enough using all of the extra blankets provided (4 total) with some nights getting below 0 degrees. The kitchen sets up outside, under the back door. On most nights we faced either cold, rain, or sandflies and chose to cook inside with our portable camping stove rather than open up the cabin to use the kitchen. The canopy cover for the rear area might be nice for those planning to rely on the provided kitchen set up. Epic camper's vans are a great choice for an adventurous individual or couple that plans to cover a lot of distance and wants to freedom camp.
