Ferry Landing Cemetery

One of the most picturesque cemeteries I've ever been too. Set on the hillside on the Ferry landing, the cemetery is a short Ferry ride and stroll from Whitianga wharf or you can drive there via Purangi and Cooks beach. The cemetery may be a little harder to negotiate for the less able bodied, but what a view when you get to the top with the cliff down to the ocean on one side and the rolling hills and caves of the Ferry landing on the other. On the day we were there for a memorial, we heard Tuis singing in the trees and the fresh sweet smell from all the native bush surrounding the cemetery was delightful.
