First time through this airport since the rebuild, love the new look

New Zealand's Gisborne Airport covers an area of around 160 hectares. It includes a sealed and night-capable runway at 1,310 metres in length, as well as three grass runways suitable for light aircraft. Gisborne Airport is also one of the few airports in the world that has a railway line (Palmerston North-Gisborne Line) crossing the main runway.

Fancy new airport building and sustainable as well. If I had any sort of quibble about the new design it's that the aircraft that parks on the left isn't very visible from inside the terminal. Other than that, there's lots of glass so you can see outside very well.

My first time inside the all new Gisborne Airport terminal - as we were setting off for a recent holiday in Christchurch and one has to be impressed - certainly an amazing difference to the previous tired looking building that greeted visitor and locals alike upon returning, leaving or arriving for the first time in Gisborne Tairawhiti . .

Nice new terminal. Very small airport with overpriced coffee shop but the coffee good. Not much else to do do but pleasant enough. It's cool being so close to the planes

The finishing touches to our airport almost all done.. Not sure about that truck always parked in taxi rank ,never seen that type of taxi in any other airport. limited to who can get into it .Very confusing.

Nice work the airport is now a nice place to fly from/to. Great that sustainability has been taken into the build. Only wish this was the same for the cafe which only served takeaway cups!
