Having been a resident in the village now since February 2017, I have found that there have been some improvements since Heritage took over the ownership of the Village and Rest-home from the previous owners in October 2018. The Village Residents are a very friendly group of people who are happy to call the place "HOME" We are welcome to participate in all activities at the Rest-home. Some of us make use of the dinning Room to have regular meals. During the COVID-19 Lock Down periods they even delivered meal to us, and also the management made arrangements for our shopping to be done for us. This was a great help to us all as well as relieving our families of that task so that they could concentrate their efforts closer to home. There is a very good feeling of friendship amongst the residents of the village, in fact it is more like being part of a large family. We have a lot of contact with the rest-home residents, in fact a lot of us have some very close friends there. As a matter of interest this week I was instrumental in encouraging families of two friends who needed to go into care, to come into Dunblane and they accepted my recommendations where I am confident that they will get all the care needed and more. We have had two couples and a single person take up residence recently in the village and they have all settled well, into the very friendly family atmosphere that prevails here. I'm now in my early 80s and I believe that I could not have found a better place than Dunblane to be in for the rest of the time I have left to me

Our mother has been in dementia care at Dunblane for now almost three months. The transition into care is very challenging and we are very grateful for the advice and support from the team at Dunblane. The warmth, care, and sensitivity the Dunblane team provide to our mother, and to us, is excellent. We have deep trust in the team, and as we don't live in Gisborne, trust is really very important to us, particularly during the very difficult covid times in 2020. Our mother is well and happy, enjoying the activities during the day, and resting well at night. Our very sincere thanks to the team at Dunblane.

My father has been at Dunblane in Gisborne for nearly 2 years. The staff at Dunblane are absolutely fantastic, especially since Kathy Hoole has taken over as the overall manager of the facility. The staff are all very caring and compassionate. My dad is unable to walk so he is very reliant on the care workers for assistance with most of his personal care and my father and I are so very greatful for all the assistance he receives. The kitchen staff, especially bubs and Chrissy are so very attentive to all of the residents diet needs. My father celebrated his 75th birthday this year in June and all I had to do was give them all of the food and they did everything else to ensure my dad's day was very special. They provided us with a private room so i could invite family and friends. They were so fantastic and it is something we will both never forget. This is the first year my dad has not been to hospital and I know that dad receiving all the care he gets is a big contributing factor to that. A special mention to care workers Elaine, Brenda, Mary, Rebecca and Karen to name a few are all fantastic and deserve every cent they earn plus more. The nurses, kitchen staff, management Jamie and Kathy are all wonderful. I thank you all for the love and care that you all show my father. God bless each and every one of you

No-one likes the idea of a rest home, but there is a time when you can't cope by your self and you need the support of others. For the 4 & 1/2 years the team at Dunblane looked after my Grandmother. I can't say it was a dream stay but my Grandmother was a character so definitely a two way street. The team took what she threw in their direction professionally and with poise and they made what was an undesirable situation for her bearable. In this time all I saw and heard was a team working together to make their resident feel like they were at home. If you're looking for a place where the people around you are supportive and work to make sure you're looked after then the team at Dunblane meets your needs. Thanks!
