Amazing cod and chips. We went with the crumbed blue cod and were super impressed with the size and quality of the fish. Probably the best fish and chips we have had this year. We went to thr Beach just down the road to eat them. Was perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Extremely impressed at the fast, efficient and friendly service. It was very busy being Easter Monday and we expected a long wait but to our surprise they were sending the orders out as quick as they were receiving them. So well done guys And the fish and chips were delicious!!! We got 2 elephant fish and ½ scoop of chips for under 15!!! Now that is excellent!!! The chips were all perfect with no blemishes or discoloration and we're a nice size. Overall I would highly recommend stopping off for a feed. It's on the main highway so not out of your way, affordable with plenty of parking available. The beach just down the side road is a great place to eat your fish and chips

Their blue cod burger is bloody good and filling. Their chips are good too. Good atmosphere and family friendly too. Good outside deck to enjoy your meal with the family on nice warm day.

You've got to try the crumbled Blue Cod! It's one of the best fish in New Zealand from Hampden Takeaways! Quick and efficient service with a smile. The chips are pretty damn tasty too! Go on give it a try... you won't regret it!

Seriously the best fish and chips ever. Battered or Crumbed fish. The battered mussels are large and absolutely amazing. The Blue Cod and Elephant Fish is to die for. I got 1 scoop chips and should have just got half a scoop. Will be a go to when I head South again. The guy whom served us was damn good bloke!

We always try to arrange any east coast travel to be at Hampden for lunch. Fresh crisp chips, perfect light batter, and the blue cod is fantastic. Generous serves too. No "gluggy" feeling after, like some fish and chips. Do yourself a favour, and see for yourself.
