We think that the answer was actually discovered over a hundred years ago by Maria Montessori and her educational philosophy that promotes human values over grades, cooperation over competition, and self-discovery over conformation. You’ll find that the majority of current education has them the other way around. Harbour Montessori College has been established by Harbour Montessori Trust (a registered charitable trust) where the young adults can discover their passion that will drive their desire to learn, the feeling of contentment that will give them inner peace, and the ability to genuinely connect that will lead to contribution to their wider community and the world. Montessori education, contrary to some popular beliefs, is not some loosely-open and random-learning; it consists of structures and boundaries guided by teachers who have been intensely trained, so that the students can in turn, be free to explore, self-directed and learn. We believe that there are a significant number of adolescents who can massively benefit from a school based on this philosophy – it will change their lives.
