This place is amazing. The guides are informed and enthusiastic about this whaling history that really made the area what it is today. Butlers Point is a must see! Appointments only. Jan, Jan, Susan & Lizzie do an incredible job. The gardens and land are beautiful, and everyone goes away just that bit more informed of the history and impact this place& the Butler family made on Monganui. Thanks Jan for keeping this place available.

This place is amazing and well worth a visit. So much history packed into one place. Our guide Susan was very knowledgeable, personal and obviously loved her job! So thankful that the owners had the foresight to restore, preserve and open to the public. Make sure you book as it’s open by appointment only. You won’t be disappointed. We had the best time.
