Nothing can prepare you for the experience had at this amazing new venture! If you're in the Hokianga, it is only right to be at Manea and take in the journey through history in a way that is above and beyond your typical museum experience! Appreciate the role of the younger generations who pay tribute to their ancestor Kupe whose role and influence have seen the natural beauty of what can be beheld from the sea, land and sky. Definitely a must do/see!!!

Do not miss this! 70 minute tour and show, very manageable for all ages and attention spans. Hear the origin stories where they happened from the descendants of Kupe. Interactive show will educate and thrill even sulky tweens. Self guided center also easy to get lost in, show up early for the tour to enjoy. Thank you for the experience, a true standout in NZ tourism.

Fantastic cultural centre and exhibits, in a prime location opposite the Hokianga Harbour entrance. The 4D experience, while absolutely impressive, might be a bit too loud and too hard to understand for some, but I'm sure that can and will be fine-tuned over time. Well worth a visit in any case, particularly for the interactive exhibits which are top quality. The online booking system worked well and looked professional, however, I never got a booking confirmation (only a notification that my order was pending), and a discount of 25% available on the day (advertised kerbside) was not applied. Again, probably teething issues that will be ironed out.

This is a world-class attraction. Very informative and showcases the major figure in the earliest origins of our country and the subsequent migration from Polynesia. The pride and professionalism of all of the staff was stunning. I was very proud to host an overseas visitor here. It can only get better.

Amazing 4 D cultural experience. A Hokianga must do . Needs an eye catching sign outside to sell this to passers by.
