Great place to stop by after a long day on the mountain. Lots of tasty treats including giant eclairs. It is also a nice place to stop by before heading up to grab some breakfast or lunch. Eclairs are huge and quite moreish.

God awful. Anybody who knows a true eclair will know that these come nowhere near. They are more akin to a hard biscuit with chocolate icing sugar... not a choux pastry with actual chocolate... and the world famous moniker is purely self assigned by Johnny Nation himself, basically ripping off L&P... Do yourself a favour and stay the hell away and get a pie from the BP station. seriously.

So, so sweet but a more homemade and fresh eclair than anything you'll buy from a chain donut shop. The chocolate on top is more of a raw sugar icing haha, but the cream inside is fluffy and less custardy which is great for my liking. I mention fresh as we had to wait 10 min for them to cook up some more, but that was fine since not mass produced in that way. The shop itself is fairly tight and compact. We even had to stop in again before we left town as our mate's mates were asking him to bring a box of these all the way back to Auckland! The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is just bc for me, idk if I'll really stop here again specifically to get one, BUT if my mates are, then sure I might as well dabble again.

This is a part dairy part bakery.Well known for their eclairs so couldn’t wait to try. To be honest they are not exceptional, the choux was plump and tasty and the eclair huge and real cream used. Disappointed that real chocolate was not used instead a light colour icing. The pie pastry was soft and exploded on one bite leaving the filling oozing out. The staff were pleasant ,however I personally wouldn’t stop here again.

The real magic of food is the way it either takes you back to a fantastic time or place or, creates new memories. From the first bite of your chocolate eclaire I was instantly taken back to the ones my mum used to make. Loved every bite. Thank you.
