I went on the Dolphin Swimming trip and I would highly recommend Encounter for this. The staff were so friendly and enthusiastic. The wild dolphins were spectacular, it was an amazing experience being in the water with them. They don't get any bait or enticing, they're just curious and want to see what you are! We were lucky enough to see some orcas too! Unbelievable. Definitely worth going - go support a local business whilst they're short on tourists. Thank you Encounter!

The dolphin swim was amazing. We've been in NZ for 2.5 years now, and this was definitely one of the most incredible things we've done. Kaikoura has to be one of the best places in the world to swim with dolphins. We were swimming with pods of over 100. They were inquisitive and playful and leaping out the water and putting on a great show. Great team and organisation too.

Travelling with my elderly parents who use sticks and walker. I was assured that they would get on and off the boat ok. Thanks to the staff they had an amazing time when most people would consider them too old for the trip. Thanks to all who made their day

Good price, lovely cafe site. provided wetsuit, snorkel, etc of decent quality. Boat was fine. Took about 40mins from leaving the first site to actually siting dolphins. Lucky to find 2 pods, so literally hundreds of dolphins. x2 swims with dolphins everywhere, in a playful mood on this day. Wonderful experience. Only issue was the snorkelling can be quite sea-sick inducing despite the very calm seas. The wetsuits make you completely buoyant, and you need to swim around in circles to keep up with the dolphins. We definitely needed the wetsuits for the water temperature however.

Great location with very good food. Nice relaxed surroundings and you can also bring your dog. Very attentive staff and super friendly.

It was more like dolphins swimming with humans than the other way around and so obvious why in the before time it would never have been possible to book a trip with less than a few weeks in advance. Was there mid March and had an amazing time, they got so close you could touch them but you absolutely should NOT do that.
