Love landing at this place! It's quite a narrow and short runway which makes things a lot more exciting. The beautiful oceanic view on the right side with the Kaikoura ranges to the left; this is definitely a blissful, serene and calm experience that one should try to partake in. The airport is right next to the highway and isn't difficult to access. There are quite a few companies that help tourists with whale watching be it via air or sea.
Kaikoura Aero Club is based at Kaikoura Airport - just look for the big black hangar at the south end of the Airport carpark. Operating since 1983, the Aero Club offers Whale Flights, Pilot a Plane experiences and Flight Training - and it's a non-profit organisation, too. Hope to see you soon.
