Beautiful place away from all the noise. A great place to relax. Calm beach with clear water. Camping is great with shower and toilet. Just be aware of the seafulls waking you up in the morning if the roster hasn’t already.

This bay is absolutely stunning and well worth the 20km drive off main SH to visit. We stayed 3 nights in DOC campsite on lower camp area near flushing toilets & cold showers and beach views just perfect. Safe swimming and rocks to snorkel around beautiful white sand highly recommended.

Beautiful sandy bay, great for snorkeling body boarding & swimming. Walk up the hill & take in the amazing views of both beaches. Just one of many in Karikari Peninsula. Paradise in the far north

O. For the second time. M. Love this place. G. We have some very special friends who live moments from the bay, & are so thankful for their generosity in sharing this beauty. Their humbleness and love for the whenua can be felt in every nook and cranny. Please. Respect this place. Respect the people. Respect each other. Bask in the privilege that is Matai (Maitai) Bay.
