Wonderful bush camp with great amenities. Biting insects mostly by the lake not so much in the bush. Excellent bush walks. Diverse and amazing bird song.

Stunning location, with so many tramping options at your doorstep. Clean and convenient -- gas for cooking, washing machine and dryer, hot showers with a token from the visitor centre. Highly recommended for a lovely nature escape.

Stunning views in the morning and may be even great for some astro shots at night with the lakes reflection. The site is amazing, it's very well managed and hygienic. Its totally worth your 20. That's the cost per head if you are camping. Rates differ if you pick a powered site. Check DOC for rates.

Magnificent views at this campsite. One of the most beautiful lakes in the country. There are nice creekside walks nearby and you can see the playful ducks and eels near the dock. Campground had great facilities and drinking water. Well surrounded by trees so a quiet night too

Amazing spot with great facilities. We arrived after 4:30 and the camp hosts were lovely and checked us in and provided tokens for thr hot shower. Lots of sandflies but they were just annoying and didn't seem to bite. Will be back in winter to see the mountains with snow on them.

Probably the most stunning campground we have ever stayed in! It’s small but peaceful, the sandflies are annoying sure but just douse yourself in bug repellent and you will be fine. There is a dump station on site to use also. The campground is quite expensive as far as DOC sites go but well worth it, even if you just go for a night. Lovely lake to swim in and loads of walks in the area

I've camped here now around 6 times in the last 5 months! And I don't have a habit of visiting the same place twice. They have all the facilities to make it a comfortable stay. With an on demand hot water tank in the kitchen ( I have no idea what they are called) but it is my favourite part. Showers, toilets also Wheelchair accessible. Kitchen has gas provided. And a quick walk down to both jettys. The weather is a little different each time we come here which keeps things interesting as you can see by my jetty pics. Waking up to this place in the snow was my favorite ️ Some sites are big enough for our my ginormous tent so you can see the room you have to play with ..I added pics. You can also hire kayaks next to the jetty. I bring my own SUP. Many walks to choose from as well as water taxi options. Heading back Anzac weekend. That makes driving 4 and a 1/2 hours twice this month already to come here haha. BE PREPARED FOR A MILLION MOZZIES ALWAYS KEEP YOUR TENT CLOSED UP BECAUSE THEY WILL SWARM IN as well as around the Jetty. They seem to disappear once you're out on the water. Goodluck P.s the ducks are super friendly too
