A terrific little bay dependant upon the lake level, excellent views to the the south, east and north. A very special place that we hold very close to our hearts. We know it as Boss’ Bay.

Popular picnic spot that is free from freedom camping. Check out the trout in the stream during the summer. A popular place for fly fishermen. Take a picnic and spend some time with the family under the old Kowhai tree. The size of the beach is dependant on the level of the lake
Idea spot to have a picnic. Kid safe. Popular with trout fishermen. Now that freedom campers have been banned it can now be used by families. Visitors and locals. In the past winter the sand has built up making the beach larger. The water coming out of the stream is a bit cooler so it pays to move away from it when swimming. This is a great place to kayak from.
After 20 years of daily walks through here it has lost its charm by loss of kowhai trees and crammed with camper vans. Best when empty of vehicles hogging the lakeside
Nice spot, will definitely visit again
Really nice spot on the waterfront. Perfect spot for a campervan park up
