Wow! The tuna to start was incredible- so many flavours in a brightly coloured dish, for main the gnocchi - was beautiful - the saffron flavours with the coconut and pumpkin worked wonderfully. Lastly the rum mousse - so rich we couldn’t finish it! Great wines and a cool gin list too! Would recommend and would go back.

I played the meal below. Best steak perfectly cooked. Very few places will present a very hot plate for your meal.. They do here! Stunning service and class act food. Highly recommend
We were there for my hubby’s birthday dinner but was so so disappointed. We had scallops as entree it was delicious but all other mains we had were nothing to be happy about. Fresh fish of the day was really average, nothing to be “wow” for. Had gnocchi as another main, thought it can’t go wrong but I was wrong. I forced myself to have as much as I could but could only finish half. I had gnocchi at different places before they are always good but the pumpkin gnocchi made me wonder if anyone would like that taste. Our little one didn’t like it too and we had to order chips for her instead. :/ Read all the good reviews here but was so disappointed. Probably we chose the wrong main course.
Spent NYE at Ma Maison and it didn’t disappoint! Staff were incredible, food was delicious (especially the seared tuna), stunning location and atmosphere was perfect. Can’t thank the lovely hostess enough for finding us the perfect table. Ma Maison from the clientele seems to be loved by both locals and tourists. Also being in IT, I was impressed with their systems and customer processes - I have never had a follow up email from a restaurant. Definitely a 10/10!
So so so very disappointed. Appeared to be the nicest restaurant we had seen in akaroa. Went there for dinner with my partner. Everything started fine, the entree was amazing. Then however things went downhill.fast! My main was brought out before my partners. After more than 5 minutes I sent my meal back. Next our meals were brought back out together however my fillet steak had not been cooked. Seared at best. Inedible for anyone other than a dog or perhaps a carnivorous dinosaur. So again I sent it back. My partner continued to eat as another meal was prepared. By the time I received my third steak my partner had finished her meal. The steak was removed from our bill , over 40, however for our date night out this small act of gesture was nothing more than courtesy.did not repair the unsavory taste of the terrible kitchen management. We honestly would not return nor recommend . For the prices they charge one would expect far superior service and quality !
A fantastic place to dine. The menu has a great selection to chose from. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and accommodating. Our meals are always well presented and delicious. Nice decor and friendly warm atmosphere. Our go to place for breakfast, lunch or dinner when we visit Akaroa. Highly Recommend!!!
Went here twice over a long weekend. Great food here, well presented and thought out. On one of the occasions they were very busy and there was a bit of a miscommunication with our order, but the way they dealt with it was superb. Very popular for lunch and dinner. Sadly we missed happy hour! The 'kids box' was a hit both times. Like how they thought of that as an idea to keep kids happy. Blue Cod (lunch) and the Salmon Fish of the Day (dinner) were superb. My wife's Caesar salad was excellent too. Heard mussels are great - one for next time. Great drinks selection.
Relatively pricey, like all of the restaurants in Akaroa. But unlike most of the others, the food and service here is worth the price. We shared scallops, mussels, oysters, crispy squid and a side of veggies. All delicious. Friendly and polite waiters too. Recommended.
